Mixed Ages

This is the essential Music Together®® class, one that a child can attend from birth through age five through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, and when exploring musical instruments, free from age-specific expectations and comparisons. Any caregivers—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the children. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience.

*Tuition includes: A new song collection, a copy of the illustrated songbook and 2 CDs. In addition to the songbook and 2 CDs, enrolled families will receive a code to access Music Together's Family Music Zone®. There, you'll be able to download the songs from the current song collection, in addition to exploring fun content created just for you. To access the Family Music Zone®, parents will create an account (click on the current families tab) at https://www.musictogether.com/ using the code found on the inside back cover of the CD booklet.

Music Together within Therapy

Families of children with special needs often say Music Together classes fill their desire for a welcoming, community-based experience the whole family can enjoy. In all of our family and in-school classes, music is learned through developmentally appropriate activities that support and respect everyone's learning style.

For families preferring a smaller, more intimate classroom environment which offers all the same experiences—songs, chants, movement, instrument play, and dancing—but with fewer children and more attention to creating access to music-making, Experience Music is offering Music Together within Therapy classes! These classes extend the Music Together philosophy of accepting and including all levels of participation, regardless of ability or disability. In this class, your Music Together teacher will have specialized skills and training in order to make the class experience accessible to all children, including siblings.

*Tuition for MTWT includes CD, Parent Guide and DVD, Music Together Growth Chart, the Music Together Family Songbook, and access to the Family Music Zone® for enriched music activities, opportunities for learning, and additional ways to increase engagement with other families.  MTWT group participants also receive individualized music therapy goals specific to your child’s development.  Additionally, you will receive instruction on how to implement a home music therapy program to facilitate your child’s continued growth.

*Please note: ALL of Music Together’s classes are open to children with special needs and disabilities.

Music is fun for you and your child—and it also supports your child’s development

Bouncing your baby to the beat of your favorite song, humming the tunes you remember from your childhood: music is so much fun for you and your new baby. And for your son or daughter, it’s more than just a good time—it also supports his development. Babies are alert to the sounds of music and speech as soon as they are born, and musical interactions with their primary caregivers help them to easily learn the music of their culture and grow into confident music-makers.

The Music Together® Babies Class will start your child on the path to a lifetime of musical enjoyment.  Specifically designed for infants eight months and younger, this one-semester introduction to Music Together allows babies to embrace, enjoy, and express their inborn musicality. In your weekly class, you will spend forty-five delightful minutes singing, dancing, and playing with your child, all in the company of other new parents and guided by an early childhood music specialist. You’ll learn how your child is developing musically and leave with lots of ideas on how to play and bond musically at home.
